October, 2nd, Melbourne- Getac, a leading innovator and manufacturer of rugged computers, has announced significant upgrades to one of its flagship products – the B300 fully rugged notebook. The new generation B300 features greater processing power, exceptional wireless connectivity and a 34% improvement in graphics performance compared to the earlier model.
Designed for use in the defence, public safety, and field service sectors, the B300 adopts the latest Intel® technology, offering the new Haswell 4th generation Intel® Core™ i5-4300M (2.6GHz) or i7-4600M (2.9GHz) processors. Frank Bryan, Getac Country Manager at Synnex Australia says the new device sets the standard for rugged computing performance. “We’re proud to be first to market with the latest in Intel processing power within a rugged device, and we’re confident users will benefit from improved speeds and communications capabilities. This is the first in a new generation of devices to incorporate this cutting-edge technology.”
The new device also incorporates Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, 802.11ac, which will deliver ultrafast WiFi speeds (up to 867 Mbps) and a broader range, giving users better connection experience and more efficient data transmission. The addition of new Bluetooth 4.0 technology will also boost performance in the field, according to Mr Bryan. “Rugged devices must have the ability to process large amounts of data, and connect quickly and seamlessly to other technologies. The new B300 more than rises to those challenges, while maintaining the benefits that have made the product so successful to date. It’s engineered to be faster, and run for longer, than almost any other rugged device on the market.” In addition to computing speed and performance, the B300 has been built to perform in critical working conditions. Key features include a 13.3” QuadraClear™ sunlight readable touchscreen display (up to 1400 nits), a SiRFstarIV™ GPS chipset, providing location Press release accuracy to 2.5 metres, and up to 30 hours of extended battery life, as well as dust, drop, and water resistance. The device is also ANSI certified, meaning that it can be used in hazardous locations (such as where flammable gases are present); its resistance to salt fog makes it ideal for marine environments, and the device can also be used in darkness using night vision goggles, without the need for filters.
The new B300 is available for ordering in Australia now with the MSRP starts from AU$4,495. For more information visit: http://www.getac.com.au or contact your Synnex Getac Account Manager on 1300 100 104.
