About the Role:
The Assistant Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the availability of internal infrastructure across the business, responding to Help Desk requests, escalating issues, and contributing to continuous improvement in the department.
Reporting to the Management Information Systems Manager and working in a fast paced environment, your main responsibilities will include:
- Proactively approach and solve user problems logged through Help Desk
- Accurately maintain company IT asset records (users, change of ownership, etc.) and asset tag high value equipment issued by the company
- Onboarding and offboarding of employees – managing accounts and permission for network, email, website, call center and other equipment
- Experience in providing Level 1 and Level 2 support for daily network issues
- Experience in installing required software from backend for client computers according to their job roles (TeamViewer experience required)
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network services and its security, as well as the appropriate usage of devices on the network. This includes but not limited to LAN / WAN / VPN / AP / CCTV
- Installation, testing and maintaining of computers, network devices and other hardware systems
- Create / update documentation when changes are made to the settings or configuration of infrastructure
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer systems and networks or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar end user facing role.
- Experience with Windows operating systems and network management
- Knowledge of any the following technical disciplines: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft CRM, Barracuda Firewall, Routers and Switching, Enterprise Antivirus systems.
- An understanding of (including troubleshooting and diagnostic skills) networks such as LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Routers and Switches, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Commitment, initiative and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
